So I started this blog a while ago and then never really went anywhere with it. Now I am feeling like trying to stick to it for a while... we'll see what happens ;)
Today is my second day off, which is really good, since I'm sick. Sucks to be sick, but if I have to, I want it to be on my day off so I don't miss any work. My wonderful man came over to take care of me. He has been cooking for me, bring me whatever I'm craving to eat, getting me tea, water, and gatorade to keep me hydrated. I just want to take a minute to brag about how wonderful he is. As soon as he heard I was sick he took his days off to come to my house, and take care of me. It was all he could think about as he was putting his house in order before he came. When he called me, he kept talking about how he was working fast so he could get over as soon as possible to take care of me. He's so loving and sweet and just wants to make me feel better. As a result, I am feeling much better and should be able to get back to work tomorrow, provided nothing drastically changes for the worst.
Here are a few things I love to have when I'm sick
1. Heating pad for all the especially achey parts of my body, neck, back, chest. My mom actually made the heating pad for me, its white with pretty pink flowers on it and is filled with rice. I just pop it in the microwave for a couple minutes and its all toasty warm and soothing,
2. Comfy pajama bottoms and a hoodie. The hood helps to keep my head warm all night, since my room is usually cold, and who doesn't like comfy cozy jammie bottoms!?
3. Tea with honey. The warm soothing feeling of tea with honey gliding down my sore throat is such a relief from the intensity of the pain. Also it puts me in a drowzy state so I can sleep better.
4. Ibuprofen. Because whoever invented the stuff was brilliant! It really reduces the pain everywhere, not to mention knocking a fever out. It makes functioning a lot more possible.
5. Internet. I love being lazy while I'm sick and watching all the back issues of my favorite tv shows on Netflix!
So, all in all I'm doing pretty well thanks to my man being there for me and making sure I have all the comforts of a Princess in her castle.
